Don Quixote
Royal Opera House
19, 20 July at 7.30pm, 21 July at 2.00pm and 7.30pm
The Bolshoi's eagerly awaited season at the Royal Opera House opens with Alexei Fadeyechev's production of Petipa's sparkling Don Quixote, which received such acclaim during the Company's last visit to London.
With a feast of dazzling choreography, the ballet tells of the love between Kitri and Basil and the fruitless and hilarious attempts of Kitri's father to engineer his unwilling daughter into a more lucrative match.
Drama, comedy, love and virtuoso dancing combine in Petipa's enchanting classic, restaged for the Company in 1999.
